Punjab new and renewable sources of energy (NRSE) policy 2012 [1]

Governor of Punjab has proposed this “New and Renewable Sources of Energy Policy 2012 to develop new and renewable sources of energy based technologies and energy conservation measures as well as provide financial and fiscal assistance.

The Governor of Punjab is pleased to formulate a 'New and Renewable Sources of Energy (NRSE) Policy – 2012’, to develop and promote new and renewable sources of energy based technologies and energy conservation measures as well as providing financial & fiscal assistance, thereby addressing the problems arising from depletion of conventional sources of energy and environment pollution. This “New and Renewable Sources of Energy (NRSE) Policy 2012” for the period 2012-2017 aims at systematic and faster development of Renewable Energy sources to achieve a capacity addition of 800 MWs by 2017. The Policy charts a road map for putting such resources of state to efficient usage in a time bound manner.
