A plan to conduct an environmental survey in the demilitarised zone (dmz) between North and South Korea is on the anvil. "We are discussing the plan with North Korea,' said Park Yeon-jae, a spokesperson for South Korea's environment ministry. The dmz is an ecologically well preserved area. After the survey, the dmz area will get the status of a trans boundary biosphere reserve of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation.
