The division bench of the Mumbai high court consisting of Ochief Justice M B Shah and justice Jahangirdar directed the Union department of family welfare to place an order of 4.3 crore doses of oral polio vaccine with Haffkine Bio-Pharmaceutical Corporation Ltd. It has been agreed that the department of family welfare would purchase 4.3 crore doses from Haffkine from the previous year's production. The balance requirement for 1998-99 would be purchased from various manufacturers in proportion to their capacity, verified by the licensing authority.
