 STRIKING BACK [1]

The controversy over funding projects for saving the Indian tiger is getting thicker. The Worldwide Fund for Nature-India (WWF-I) is planning to take legal action against Michael Day of the UK-based Tiger Trust who had alleged that WWF-I had acquired large funds but had failed to check the decline in the tiger population ( Down To Earth,Vol 5,No 10 [2] ). WWF-I might file a Rs one million defamation suit against Michael Day. WWF-I had received US $100,000 some months back from its counterpart in UK for tiger conservation. Both WWF-I and WWF-UK have refuted Day's allegations.
