Local bodies begin work on groundwater recharge
Local bodies in the district have been urged to initiate steps to implement projects aimed at long-term groundwater recharge in the district.
Addressing a meeting on the ‘Amrithavarshini' project conceived for turning Kannur into a water resource-rich district, District Collector Rathan Kelkar said that many panchayats had already started work to ensure groundwater recharge to stop the depletion in groundwater level.
