The commissioning of two units of 130 MW capacity each of the 520 MW Parbati-III hydropower project, which is already running four years behind schedule, is in trouble.
The water discharge in the Sainj river has receded drastically and “is just enough to run one unit”, which is likely to be commissioned in October next month. Though National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) had targeted to commission the two units in August, but the water ingress and non-completion of cable and civil termination works in the power house at Bihali have further delayed the commissioning
