The Madras High Court on Thursday declined to order a fresh probe into alleged illegal mining of beach sand in southern districts of the State.
Passing orders on a batch of petitions which sought various reliefs including an enquiry, the Bench comprising Justices M.Jaichandren and M.Venugopal pointed out that the State government already constituted a special team under Revenue Secretary, Gagandeep Singh Bedi, to inspect and verify the alleged illicit mining activities being carried on in the various mining areas.
