Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vikrant Kumar Tongad Vs. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. dated 03/02/2016 regarding rainwater harvesting systems in malls of Delhi.
Out of the 23 malls, shown in the order dated 30- 09-2015 [2], 4 malls were already discharged by earlier orders. The counsel appearing for the Delhi Pollution Control Committee made available the inspection reports regarding M/s Upaj Buildcon P. Ltd, Lifestyle Builders P. Ltd and Divine Infra P. Ltd. Environmental compensation of Rs. 3 lakhs, 5 lakhs and 5 lakhs were each imposed on these malls. The counsel appearing for the DPCC has submitted that they have already paid the environmental compensation.
