The matter related to rainwater harvesting systems in Dwarka.

This Report of the Standing Committee on Urban Development (2020-21) deals with the action taken by the Government on the Observations/Recommendations contained in their Twenty Fourth Report (Sixteenth Lok Sabha) on the subject "Rain Water Harvesting in Metropolitan Cities" which was presented to Parliament on 07th January, 2019.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of News Item Published in “Hindustan Times” dated 19.06.2015 Titled “Dirty flows your drinking water” authored by Ritam Haldar” dated 11/09/2019 regarding contamination of ground water in Delhi.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mahesh Chandra Saxena Vs Govt. of NCT of Delhi & Other dated 28/03/2019 regarding installation of rainwater harvesting systems in all the schools and colleges (private or government) in NCT Delhi. This review application has been filed in relation to orders dated 30.01.2019 and 22.02.2019 for compliance of the order dated 16.11.2017. The Order of 16.11.2017 had passed the following directions: 1.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Praveen Kakar & Ors. Vs. MOEF&CC & Ors. dated 19/09/2018. Allegations in this application, inter-alia, are that there is encroachment of parks in green areas in Block C of Sushant Lok, Phase I, Gurgaon. Illegal extraction and supply of ground water which is contaminated is taking place. There is absence of water harvesting system. There is absence of sewerage treatment plant. The sewerage of the area connects the storm water drain.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mahesh Chandra Saxena Vs. The Ministry of Urban Development & Others dated 16/11/2017 regarding installation of rainwater harvesting systems in all the schools and colleges (private or government) in NCT Delhi. NGT directs all the schools and colleges to install rainwater harvesting systems, if not already installed, within a period of two months from today at their own cost. Any institution which does not comply with these directions shall be liable to pay a environmental compensation of Rs.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mahesh Chandra Saxena Vs. SDMC and Others dated 03/11/2016 regarding faulty design of the Rain Water Harvesting System installed by SDMC (South Delhi Municipal Corporation).

SDMC contends that the design of the RWHS is as per the design approved by the Committee constituted by the High Court and therefore they cannot make any alteration. National Green Tribunal notes that SDMC is virtually taking a refuge on the ground that the design of the RWHS is approved by the Committee but we do not find any such material on record.
