Judgement of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rajiv Savara Vs Darrameks Hotels & Developers Pvt. Ltd. & Others dated 21/03/2016 regarding illegal construction for commercial purposes as well as commercial activities on the river banks, the flood plains and the river bed of River Ganga in Rishikesh and upwards to Dev Prayag including on its head streams Alaknanda and Bhagirathi, posing a threat and causing irreparable damage to the river as well as importantly, to the environment and the wildlife.
NGT constitutes a committee to submit a report regarding construction activities by Darrameks Hotels & Developers Private Limited on the banks and the flood plains of river Ganga (at village Singtali, Gram Sabha Atali, District Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand) and find out the locational position of the impugned structure in relation to the 1:25year flood level?
