The Government of India notified Plastic Waste Management (PWM) Rules, 2016 by superseading Plastic Waste (Management & Handling) Rules, 2011. As per the Rule ‘6(2)(d)’ of PWM Rules, 2016, processing and disposal of non-recyclable fraction of plastic waste shall be in accordance with the Guidelines issued by the Central Pollution Control Board. In compliance of the direction, the Central Pollution Control Board has prepared the “Guidelines for the Disposal of Non-recyclable Plastic Waste”. Thereafter, processing and disposal of non-recyclable plastic waste shall be in the accordance with the said Guidelines, as amended from time to time.
