Order of the National Green Tribunal (Western Zone Bench, Pune) in the matter of Federation of Rainbow Warriors, Margao Vs Union of India & Others dated 11/01/2017 regarding Environmental Clearance (EC) granted to the project of construction of International Airport on Barazan plateau in Pernem taluka of North Goa.

The Appellant submits that hearing of the Appeal is being delayed and passage of time is exposing environment to the injurious activities of the State, causing environmental degradation. He submits that State of Goa has undertaken work of widening of road leading to plateau, where construction of International Airport is envisaged and in doing so, cutting of trees for the purpose of widening is undertaken.
