Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Kallpavalli Vriksha Pempakamdarula Vs. Union of India & Others dated 03/03/2017 regarding ecological and environmental loss as a result of the establishment of 55 windmills erected in the Kallpavalli, Ananthapur District, Andhra Pradesh. ENERCON India Limited was asked to pay an environmental compensation of Rs. 50 lakh.
In the Order dated 03/03/2017 NGT said that the forest department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh can retain the entire sum of Rs. 50 lacs but such retention will not be in violation of the orders of the Tribunal already passed and if in future direction is passed, the amount would be payable by the Forest Department to the Central Pollution Control Board in accordance with the order of the Tribunal dated 25th August, 2016 along with the un-utilized amount.
