Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding industrial pollution caused by lack of functional CETP, Loni, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, 12/06/2017 [1]

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rashid Ali Warsi Vs. UPSIDC Ltd. & Others dated 12/06/2017 regarding industrial pollution caused by lack of functional CETP, Loni, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. NGT in its Order Dated 29/05/2017 [2] had directed UPSIDC (Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation) to make the CETP functional positively and report compliance. But NGT notes with dismay the report submitted by Central Pollution Control Board which speaks of inaction on the part of UPSIDC because of which there is a severe pollution and adverse impact on the environment.

NGT imposes a cost of Rs. Rs. 2 lakh per day to be paid by UPSIDC till the STP is made functional and the orders are complied with.
