Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Western Zone Bench, Pune) in the matter of The Human & Animal Welfare Association Vs Gujarat Pollution Control Board, Paryavaran Bhavan & Others dated 06/09/2017 regarding violation of environmental norms by Sachin Infra Environment Limited (SIEL) thereby directly contributing to surface and groundwater contamination, soil pollution, damage to flora and fauna etc. in Unn Khadi area situated at about 5.1 k.m. from Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation, Sachin.

NGT indicts SIEL-CETP for non-compliance of environmental norms for the last five years as it was found discharging outlet waste water containing pollutants beyond the permissible limits in the environment and thus contributing to the contamination of Unn Khadi environment and directs SIEL-CETP to pay an environmental compensation of Rs.20,00,000/- (Rs. Twenty lakhs). NGT also directs GPCB to take appropriate actions against four other industries found by the Court Commissioner of discharging their waste water to open storm water drain.
