Telangana is likely to experience above normal heatwave conditions this year. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the state which falls into the Core Heat Wave zone of India will have maximum temperatures above normal between March and May. During the summer, the zone is likely to witness normal to above normal heatwave conditions. Keeping the impact of heatwaves in view, the Telangana government has directed the Collectors to initiate advance action plans to avoid human causalities due to heatwave conditions.
