 Cellular threat [1]

Researchers D A Redelmeier and R J Tibshirani of the University of Toronto, US, say that driving while talking on cellular phones is as dangerous as driving while slightly drunk. A perusal of the telephone records of drivers involved in 699 roadway collisions in Canada showed that the risk of accident in those who spoke on phones while driving was at least four times higher. Mercifully, the only advantage of having a cellular phone at hand has been that some of them were able to call for help immediately after the accident ( New England Journal of Medicine , Vol 336, No 7).
