Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of In Re: T. N. Godavarman Thirumulpad Vs Union of India & Others dated 08/02/2019 regarding mining in Aravalli in the state of Rajasthan. Chief Secretary of Rajasthan has undertaken before the Court that ground truthing work would be completed by 04/03/2019 and the work is being done with the help of DGPS ((Differential GPS) instrument.

SC on perusal of the affidavit filed by the Chief Secretary finds that 13 mining leases are in operation and the lease holders have been found to be in breach of terms and conditions of the lease. The Court orders a detailed report to be submitted with respect to the 13 operational leases and also the situation of the hill and the kind of destruction that has taken place.
