Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding discharge of untreated industrial effluents in river Kotar, village Sayli, Dadar and Nagar Haveli, 11/03/2019 [1]

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rajankumar B. Solanki M/s AYM Syntex Ltd. & Others dated 11/03/2019 regarding discharge of untreated effluents by an industry in river Kotar in Village Sayli in Silvasa, Dadar and Nagar Haveli. The industry is engaged in manufacturing synthetic and nylon based yarns and discharging untreated effluents into the river. The river in question meets Daman Ganga River which has been identified as a polluted river stretch by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

NGT directs a Joint Committee of representatives of CPCB and the Dadar and Nagar Haveli Pollution Control Committee to look into the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with law and furnish a factual and action taken report to the Tribunal within one month.
