Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of the Managing Director Panipat Cooperative Sugar Mills Ltd. Vs Amit Kaushik & Others dated 26/04/2019 regarding plea for reduction of quantum penalty of Rs 25 lakhs as the sugar industry had taken the necessary steps for installing the anti-pollution devices. [2] The SC directs the industry to deposit Rs 10 lakhs within a period of four weeks, subject to which notice shall be issued for reduction in penalty.
