Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding violation of environment norms in buffer zone of Kaikondarahalli lake, Bangalore, 09/05/2019 [1]

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mahadevpura Parisara Samrakshane Mattu Abhivrudhi Samiti Vs Union of India & Others dated 09/05/2019 regarding violation of environment norms in the fragile buffer zone of Kaikondarahalli Lake at Banglore.

Joint Committee comprising Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and the Bangalore Development Authority submited a report which reveals illegal constructions affecting the environment, ecology and feeder canals of Kaikondarahalli Lake. The illegal activities will have adverse effect on the ecologically sensitive zone.

NGT directs submission of a report citing action taken within two months and directs KSPCB to coordinate with BBMP and Bangalore Development Authority.
