Compliance report in O.A. No. 160/2019 in the matter of Ranjeet Singh Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 20/01/2020. The matter related to M/s Awadh Sugar & Energy Ltd, Hata, Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh not following environmental norms. During inspection by the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB), hazardous waste like oil and oily sludge recovered from ETP was burned along with baggasse as a fuel in boilers. Also, there was no storage option for oil/oily sludge.

The unit had installed electro static precipitator (ESP) as air pollution control system and has a co-generation power plant having capacity of 33 MW. Stack monitoring was also done, which was found within norms. Effluent treatment plant and sewage treatment plant was in operation.
