Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Hasmukh R. Shah Vs State of Gujarat dated 29/09/2020. The matter related to allegation of use of wood as a fuel by industries in Dahod, Gujarat. This generated carbon in the surrounding area, causing pollution.

The Gujarat State Pollution Control Board acknowledged that there was violation of environmental norms by some of the units and its report of July 16, 2020 mentioned the steps taken, including assessment of compensation. However, recovery could not be effected as "hearing is to be given to the concerned units, in pursuance of an order of the High Court, which will be done within two months."
The NGT directed that further action be taken in accordance with law to ensure compliance of environmental norms.
