Order of the Rajasthan High Court on poppy cultivation, 11/06/2021 [1]

Order of the High Court of Rajasthan in the matter of Suo Motu Vs Union of India & Others dated 11/06/2021 regarding poppy cultivation in Rajasthan.

It was brought to the attention of the court that the notification issued by the Central Government (No.1055(E) of October, 19, 2001) does no specify small or quantity for cultivation of Papaver somniferum commonly known as opium poppy or poppy plants.

The HC listed the next date of hearing (July 12, 2021) and directed notices be issued to the Union of India, through Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue and also to the state of Rajasthan.
