The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change November 01, 2021 has issued a Draft Notification on amendment of Coastal Regulation Zone notification, 2019. Following amendments have been made: In paragraph 5.1.2, which specifies CRZ-I B - The inter tidal areas, sub-clause (Xiii) has been substituted, namely: Development and Production of oil and natural gas and all associated facilities thereto; Exploratory drilling operations shall be exempted from prior CRZ clearance.” In paragraph 5.4, which specifies CRZ-IV, sub-clause (x) has been substituted, namely: “Development and Production of oil and natural gas and all associated facilities thereto; Exploratory drilling operations shall be exempted from prior CRZ clearance.” In paragraph 5.1.2, which specifies CRZ-I B - The inter tidal areas, sub-clause (XiX) has been inserted, namely: “(xix) Purely temporary and seasonal structures (shacks) customarily put up and may be retained during the monsoon season with adequate precautions. In respect of State of Goa and Maharashtra, such structures (shacks), customarily put up between the months of September to May, may be retained during the month of June to August. Provided that the facilities available in these structures shall remain non-operational during the month of June to August.”
