Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Jayesh Patel (Narmada Pradushan Nivaran Samitee) Vs State of Gujarat dated 18/02/2022 regarding extension of time for completing the work of establishing final effluent treatment plant and guard pond in terms of the NGT order, November 19, 2020.

The NGT had found that the applicant unit had not installed necessary equipment for control of pollution in terms of consent conditions, resulting in continued violation of environmental norms.

The application has sought further extension of time by pleading difficulties due to COVID-19.

The NGT refused to accept the prayer and said that violations have already continued for long and it will not be in the interest of the environment to extend time for compliance further. The Tribunal directed Narmada Clean Tech to ensure compliance by April 15, 2022.
