The Central Government vide notification dated 4th November, 2022 has issued the draft Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2022. The amendment proposes that the hot mix plants shall follow the The Noise Pollution (Regulation & Control) Rules, 2000 under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and workers shall be provided with personal protective equipments. SPCBs/ PCCs may decide the size& capacity to permit hot mix plants based on available technology and prevailing environmental conditions.
