Report of 26 districts of Uttar Pradesh on steps taken to stop the pollution of river Ganga, 23/01/2024 [1]

Report of 26 districts of Uttar Pradesh in Original Application No 200 of 2014 in the matter of M C Mehta Vs Union of India & Others. Hardoi, Sitapur, Shravasti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Rampur, Mathura, Mainpuri, Kanpur Dehat district among others have filed their District Ganga Committee report.

The District Ganga Committee report by Hardoi stated that in many of the drains analysis of various parameters like BOD, COD, TSS, TDS, heavy metals, nitrates have not been carried out. Sewage treatment plants have not been installed in Nagar Palika Parishad Hardoi, Shahabad, Bilgram, Sandi, Pali among others. The sewage generated from Nagar Palika Parishad Bilgram area is being discharged into river Ganga and the gap in treatment is 100 per cent. When it comes to hotels/ashrams/dharamshalas in NPP Hardoi no consent to establish and operate has been applied for and no STP installed. The discharge point of 12 hotels are road side drains.
