Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Manish Kumar Vs Govt. of NCT of Delhi & Others dated 13/03/2024.

The matter related to encroachment, pollution, reduction of area of the pond in Smriti Van which is a DDA park at Kishangarh village, Delhi. District Magistrate, South Delhi has submitted that action has been initiated against the encroachers.

The bench comprising Chairperson of National Green Tribunal (NGT) Justice Prakash Shrivastava and Justice Sudhir Agarwal directed District Magistrate, South Delhi and Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) to take requisite action for restoration of the pond, removal of encroachment, identification of violators and action against them for committing the violations of environmental norms.

The court directed the District Magistrate, South Delhi and DPCC to take necessary action in this regard within three months and then file a report on the matter.
