As trees disappear across the City to make way for the Metro and new roads, twin giants have been given a new lease of life by a tree-lover.
Bangalore cardiologist Dr Ramana Rao paid roughly Rs one lakh from his pocket to relocate two enormous peepal trees - one aged 225 years and the other 240 years - after he found them uprooted at the side of the Tumkur highway to make way for roadworks.
