A water supply scheme to supply safe water to several areas including Alanthudawa and Minniya farmer colonies in the Kalpitiya Divisional Secretariat was commissioned by Minister Dinesh Gunawardene recently. It fulfilled a long felt need in view of a health hazard created by excessive use of agro- chemicals and synthetic fertilizer that caused contamination of ground water.
