A large number of birds and animals as well as thousands of valuable medicinal shrubs and trees have perished in a fire that has enguled the Doddahotte Ranganathaswamy Hills in Santhenahalli near Holalkere in Chitradurga district.
The fire has been raging for some days now, and it has claimed numerous birds and animals such as deer, bears, wild boars, wolves, foxes, rabbits and hares, wild cats
