Water sources must be protected [1]

Besides protecting water sources, people should also make judicious use of water as it is increasingly going scarce, said V. Sampath, District Collector.

He was speaking at a function held at Konthamur near here to mark the World Water Day celebrations on Tuesday. The Collector said that without water, no living being could survive. While earth consists of two-thirds of seawater and one-third of land, a lot of pressure was being put on resources found on the land owing to population explosion. It has gad an impact on water availability too.
