Proposes 3 400-KV power transmission systems on Chenab basin
The state government has proposed three 400-KV power transmission systems to tap about 3,000 MW from the Chenab river basin in the eco-sensitive Lahaul-Spiti cold desert. However, the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) and the Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCI) face an uphill task to propose a transmission system that fits the bill for the basin.
