Violation of pollution norms
The HP Environment Protection and Pollution Control Board has snapped electricity connections of 17 hotels.The pollution board will tighten its noose around 200 hotels located on riversides in Mandi, Chamba, Shimla and Nahan as these have no approval of the pollution control board for the disposal of solid waste and sewerage into the river. The National Green Tribunal has told the board to file a compliance report in a case for which the hearing has been fixed for tomorrow in Shimla.
