Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Shri Prakash Javadekar informed Rajya Sabha that the issue of mercury releases from Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) is a concern for the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. However, the Government does not have any authorised assessment of the unsafe disposal of CFL waste in the country.
