Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Krishan Kant Singh V/s. M.H. Tanners & Others dated 06/01/2016 regarding pollution caused by leather industry Jajmau, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
NGT permit the industries to operate only for a period of three weeks. In those three weeks, the joint inspection team shall conduct inspection and submit a comprehensive report to the Tribunal on all aspects of pollution, resulting from the discharge of trade effluent from these units. It will be specifically mentioned, whether the chromium recovery plants, water flow meters are installed and are order and the quality of the effluent being discharged into the common conveyer belt, in the report. The report should be submitted to the Tribunal.
