Question raised in Lok Sabha on Renewable Power Plants, 17/11/2016. The major difficulties faced in the installation of Renewable Power Plants in the country include :
Inherent intermittent nature of renewable energy sources leading to low capacity utilization factors ranging from about 17% to 70%, depending on resource and location; and also need for storage; Grid synchronization limitations on account of intermittent nature of supply; Delay in allotment of land/ sites by the State Governments and statuary forest clearances; Low-availability of low interest, long tenure loans for development of the sector.
