Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Indian Council for Enviro- Legal Action (ICELA) Vs. Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change & Ors. dated 18/08/2017 regarding thermal power plants polluting river Ganga and its tributaries. NGT directs the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Central Pollution Control Board to file the report as well as instructions with regard to the four Thermal Plants in State of Uttar Pradesh which are stated to be functioning and/or lying shut down and particularly those which fall on the banks of river Ganga or its tributaries.
