Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ashwini Kumar & Others Vs. Central Pollution Control Board dated 04/12/2017 regarding discharge of untreated effluents from industries, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. NGT was critical of the three reports submitted by the Joint Inspection Team saying it lacked "evidencery value and denies scientific reasoning" and cited that in two reports BOD at intlet is more than 5000 mg/l while in one report it is shown as 439 mg/l. Court directs the Member Secretary of the Pollution Control Boards and Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board submit a scientific report commenting upon the three reports that has been placed before the Tribunal.
