Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of The United India Insurance Co. Ltd. Vs Jay Parkash Tayal dated 27/08/2018 regarding the right of insurers to reject claims on genetic disorders clause.

Supreme Court stays the operation of the judgement of the Delhi High Court Order which had ruled that insurance companies can't deny health insurance to those suffering from genetic disorders. The High Court had said that "Discrimination in health insurance against individuals based on their genetic disposition or genetic heritage, in the absence of appropriate genetic testing and laying down of intelligible differentia, is Unconstitutional".
