In this edition of EnviStats India, 2019, Vol. I: Environment Statistics, updated information at more disaggregated levels have been provided for the indicators, so that the areas warranting focused interventions could be identified for guiding prognosis and evaluation. However, recognising the fact that stakeholders are likely to demand more data when they are convinced of its usefulness, this publication envisages to draw the attention towards collection and compilation of more data on environment. This will provide the requisite impetus to strengthening the link between factor „nature‟ and the policies and programmes of the government, thereby ensuring a “better environment, better tomorrow”.
