The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change(MOEFCC) has published a Draft Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2019 on 4th December 2019 to further amend the Environment (Protection) Rules, 1986. The Amendment is brought under Schedule 1 relating to standards for emission or discharge of environmental pollutants. The standards of emission for iron and steel plant has been substituted with new standards.
Further in Schedule-I, Rule 3 related to ‘Standard for Emission or Discharge of Environmental Pollutants from various Industries’, the entry at serial number 99 for Sponge Iron Plant (Rotatary Kiln) shall be deleted.
