The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on January 20, 2022 has issued the Draft Insecticides ( Amendment) Rules, 2022 to further amend the Insecticides Rules, 1971. The following amendment has been made: In rule 19, which specifies Manner of Labelling, sub-rule (5) has been substituted, namely: “(3). The lower portion of the square referred to in sub-rule (3) shall contain the color specified in column (8) of the table below, depending on the classification of the insecticides specified in the corresponding entry in column (2) of the said table. All persons likely to be affected thereby; and notice is hereby given that the said draft Rules shall be taken into consideration after the expiry of thirty days from the date on which the copies of this notification as published in the Gazette of India are made available to the public; The Objections or suggestions which may be received from any person in respect of the said draft Rules before the expiry of the aforesaid period of thirty days will be considered by the Central Government.
