The Government of Sikkim on June 22, 2023, notified Sikkim Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) (Repealing) Act, 2023. The following has been stated- The Sikkim Non-Biodegradable Garbage (Control) Act, 1997 is hereby repealed.. The repeal shall not (a) affect the previous operation of the said Act, or anything duly done or suffered there under; or (b) affect any right, privilege, obligation or liability acquired, accrued or incurred under the said Act; or (c) affect any penalty, forfeiture or punishment incurred under the said Act; or (d) affect any investigation, legal proceeding or remedy in respect of any such right, privilege, obligation, liability, penalty, forfeiture or punishment as aforesaid and any such investigation, legal proceeding or remedy may be instituted, mentioned or enforced and such penalty, forfeiture or punishment may be imposed as if this Act had not been passed.
