The Supreme Court directed National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) to verify whether Amravati Municipal Corporation has made "substantial compliance" with the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 and the Bio Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016. The SC listed the matter on September 22, 2023 for reporting compliance.
