BOD(BIOLOGICAL OXYGEN DEMAND):A measure of the amount of oxygen consumed by micro-organisms that feed on organic matter in water. Higher BOD means more contaminated water.
DO(DISSOLVED OXYGEN): A measure of the oxygen dissolved in water. Higher DO means cleaner water.
FAECAL COLIFORM: Organisms found in the intestinal tracts of people and animals. Their presence in water indicates dangerous bacterial contamination.
