Pune The National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune has expressed its readiness to test samples of swine flu in the event of an outbreak in the country. Officials at NIV said that they were given instructions to step up the preparedness at their laboratory.
After SARS and H5N1 bird flu, the recent swine flu outbreak that killed 103 people in Mexico has led to a fear of a possible pandemic.
