Building sector policies and regulation for promotion of solar water heating system: final report [1]

This document presents national and international best practices on solar water heater and reviews the building sector policies and regulations in India in the context of solar water heating (SWH) system promotion & assesses their effectiveness.

This report has three distinct sections, section I deals with National and International best practices on usage of Solar Water Heater; section II deals with case studies in urban local bodies in India especially focussing on the implementation of the MNRE?MOUD directive on SWH. It also highlights the
implementation of the Barcelona Model. The section III is the most important volume that assimilates the lessons and best practices from the previous sections to develop a uniform policy framework in form of a Solar Water Heating Order and its implementation framework.
