The objectives of this industrial policy are: To sensitize the administration to the needs of the industries; To create congenial environment for the development of tiny, micro, small & medium enterprises; To evolve an appropriate mechanism so as to promote industrial growth in the right perspective paving way for sustainable economic growth; o maximize production and achieve higher productivity through modernized and more efficient work techniques and optimum utilization of available resources; To upgrade the technology level of the existing industries by providing them technical and financial support; To promote sophisticated hi-tech industries, with special emphasis on high value added items without effluents, smoke, noise and vibration so that they do not cause pollution and are not hazardous and noxious; and To promote export oriented and import substitute industries as well as marketing related industries.
